An implant is a small titanium screw that replaces the root of a lost tooth. Once it has fused with the bone, a porcelain or zirconia crown is placed on top, closing the gap without touching the neighbouring teeth.

The process

  • An exam and 3D imaging to assess the bone.
  • The implant is placed under local anaesthetic.
  • Usually 2–4 months of healing while it fuses with the bone.
  • Impressions are taken and the final crown is fitted.

The same dentist does every step, so from the first talk to the last check you are with someone who knows you.
